Medica is a text-message support line for home care and home health agencies. Agencies enroll their caregivers, upload their own protocols and training materials, and Medica answers caregiver questions by SMS, 24 hours a day, using a mix of the agency's documents and general caregiving best practices.
Caregivers join the Medica text line by texting a join code provided by their agency to our program number, or by having their number added by their agency during onboarding. By texting the join code, or by continuing to text the program number after being enrolled, you expressly consent (opt in) to receive recurring, automated SMS text messages from Medica, including onboarding messages, shift check-ins, and replies to questions you send.
Message frequency varies depending on how often you text in and how many shifts you log. Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.
You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to the program number. You will receive one final confirmation message and no further texts unless you re-opt in. Text HELP at any time for assistance, or contact us at support@textmedica.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers include major US carriers; availability may vary by carrier and device.
Medica is a support and information tool, not a medical provider. In an emergency, always call 911. For anything specific to a patient's condition or care plan, Medica will direct you to your agency's designated escalation contact rather than answering directly.
Agencies are responsible for the accuracy of documents they upload, for obtaining proper consent from their caregivers before enrolling them, and for keeping their escalation contact information current.
